Mi Familia (Minus One)

May 19, 2010

There’s one person missing here… my oldest son!!!  He was probably shaking his booty on the dance floor to another silly song.  This was during Jaycee’s 18th birthday party – which was a really awesome and fun night!  I’m blessed to be surrounded by good (and goofy) people.  God is good!

Anyways, this is just a side note to show the world that all is well… all is well…

My mom turned 68 last week. And as such, we had a little birthday gathering for her.  She was soooo excited to get the Sarah Palin book!

The Jones Family

November 2, 2009

A friend from NCOA wanted me to do their family pics while he was TDY here in Utah.  This was just my second family shoot.  And as such, I was a little nervous since I don’t do much of these.  (I like taking pictures of girls alone better…  hahaha)  This was a tough assignment for me.  But I was able to get some really good shots out of it.  The sun was still a little high and as you know, that means hard shadows in areas you don’t want.  However, all in all… I say that this was a very good shoot!

Jackson/Yellowstone

June 14, 2009

My mom and dad were visiting again and we decided to spend some time in Yellowstone National Park.  We stayed at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and drove up to Yellowstone and Grand Teton.  The views were breathtaking and since I’m a devout christian, the whole trip really made me feel extremely small.  God is huge… and I mean huge!!!  That song “God of Wonders” comes to mind when driving to and fro.

We were lucky enough to get a good deal on a two-story condo for three nights.  We spent the first day in Jackson where we watched a re-enaction of the “Shoot Out at Town Square” performed by the local playhouse actors.  They were fantastic and comedic at best.  And I found the white guy acting like a mexican truly hilarious!  Some pics are below…  I converted a couple of pics from the play in b&w to give it a more older western feel (disregard the crowd in the background).

The geysers at Old Faithful was a little extraordinary except for the smell of rotten eggs everywhere (sulfur).  And watching water boil when it’s 40 degrees outside was a bit different.  My son (Jakob) jokingly asked me if he could take a dip, in which a passerby quickly replied that it would cause a very slow death.

I wanted to see a moose really bad since I had never seen one alive in my life.  Unfortunately, I had to settle for elks and bisons.  I also took a panoramic view of the Grand Teton (six shots stitched together in Photoshop).

The pics are below – there’s a lot!

Dick & Neeca

April 9, 2009

I had forgotten about the following pics, but then I remembered that I did promise to post more photos from our trip to Virginia last year.  Boy, it feels like that was a lifetime ago.  I could use another vacation now!

Here’s my sis-in-law!
