Another one of God’s gifts
February 14, 2007Rachel had another ultrasound yesterday. And this time, IÂ went with her. We must’ve waited in the lobby for more than 20 minutes. Our doctor was not able to come and see us because he was in “surgery” (delivering a baby). Fortunately, there was another kind doctor who didn’t mind helping us. I was really tired and sleepy at this time. I’ve been staying up way too late this whole week. And it didn’t really help that my body was exhausted from snowboarding all weekend – my butt is
still bruised from the nasty (horrible) crash I endured while jumping off of a ramp.
So here we are, in a small private room waiting for the doctor to come. As we sat there waiting, I couldn’t help but wonder if Rachel’s still pregnant. She’s only gained 2 pounds and she’s already almost 3 months pregnant. After the miscarriage last fall, I couldn’t help but think that maybe something bad might have happened. It doesn’t seem like she’s pregnant at all – there’s no bulge… no belly, no nothing! She’s not showing anything! And she’s been complaining about her side hurting sometimes – like some sort of a very sharp pain.
The doctor came and the ultrasound started…
…the baby is healthy! And yes, there is a baby! But when the doctor switched to a 3d view of the baby, my eyes got teary… I literary held back my tears. You can see the little face… the feet… those little hands moving… we’ve been blessed with another one! God has created life. I was really in awe!
I haven’t met this person yet, but I’m already in love. Jakob and I are hoping for a boy. But Rachel wants a girl. We will find out the sex of the baby next month. But for me, I really hope it’s another boy. So, here HE is…
Oh, and the doctor said that the sharp pain she gets on her side is normal. It’s when the uterus starts rubbing on her ovaries. Sort of like, when a guy gets hits in the cohones!
(By the way, there is still no sound. Apparently, the sound cannot be recorded.)Â
