Kings of Leon
March 31, 2008I’ve been a fan of these guys for awhile but I never bothered to get their albums past “Youth, And Young Manhood”… Well, I have them all now, and I’ve been stuck listening to them a lot. I have never seen them perform but if I do get a chance – I will jump on it like I would on an empty trampoline. I’ve heard that they are quite possibly on of the best live bands out there. And as for me, I effing love live music!
Here’s one of my favorite songs…

Here’s another shoot I did from a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been quite busy lately and I haven’t had any real time to actually edit these the way I want to. But here’s Shamika! The shoot was actually fun. I was able to use my umbrellas for some shots. She was a little uncomfortable at first, but she opened up a little in the end. All shots were taken at Hill Air Force Base on a somewhat overcast sky – which was kinda cool since it gave us soft light throughout the shoot. My co-worker actually did the hair and makeup, and she also picked out the clothes for Shamika to wear. So,… thanks Kim! My other friend James picked out one of the locations too. I told them that if I ever blow up, then I will give them compensation – hahaha… But not for this one, although I did get paid – but it wasn’t much!
I’ve been working on a new site overhaul (my site) for compatibility with the iPhone. The SDK (for the iPhone) was announced recently and even then, it’s still not sure wether we will get flash for the iPhone. The CEO of Adobe said it’s coming despite his highness (Steve Jobs) saying that it will never see the light of day on the iPhone. And then a couple of days later, Adobe states that "yes… flash might not be available in the near future" (does that statement make any sense to you?). Anyways, I’m still not sure if I should totally ditch flash. I don’t have any flash-heavy work on my site. But I just hate seeing the little lego block everytime a "flash plugin" is required. I do post links to YouTube that people with an iPhone cannot see. So, all my galleries from now on will be HTML only. It loads faster (on any platform) however, anyone can just grab my pictures with or without permissions. So I have placed a copyright sign on all of the pictures that you’ll see from here on out. (Note: the picture above is not mine – grab it if you want to. I just found it off of Google. If I find the owner I’ll mention his/her name.)
This was a two-session photoshoot. The weather last Thursday was supposed to be bright and sunny. However, it started raining at the beginning of the shoot. And for some reason, even after it stopped raining, the sun just refused to come out behind the clouds. I did not get all the shots I wanted so we had to reschedule another one. Luckily, the weather this afternoon was really nice. And I finally was able to get all of the shots that I really wanted.
