Lions for Lambs

May 9, 2008

I know I talk about movies that I really like or enjoy. Or movies that are “the best one so far”… and this might seem like a complete cliche, but since I’m leaving for the desert tomorrow, I have to say that this movie is very fitting for us – to all of us leaving our families behind to fight for something, to serve our Flag… for freedom…

There’s a line in the movie where the professor is talking to his student… “Rome is burning… do you try to manuever your way around the edges of the flame…” And when asked by his student the “what if” question… the professor (Redford) responds… “At least you did something.” Also, the movie’s presentation about the ongoing decline in education is really phenomenal. I agree with the two characters who suggested getting rid of the junior year in school to volunteer somewhere… whether ROTC, Peace Corps, etc.

The movie also touched on the influence or role of the media in certain situations. Sometimes we cannot help but believe what we see in the news whether true or not. Also, most of the time, we just don’t have a freaking clue on what’s going on.

I’d hate to say this but, this movie is definitely one of the best. And I really hope and pray that everyone would get a chance to watch it. The writer really did an exceptional job! The movie is pretty sad… yet, it gave me hope! And trust me, this movie will make you want to do something!

Lydia’s Photoshoot

May 6, 2008

We were going to do another shoot today – an 80′s theme! But something came up and we had to cancel. And since I’m going to be leaving for Disneyland soon, I think our latest session is my last one for now until I come back. I’m really hoping to do the 80′s theme with her but we shall have to wait and see.

She was very fun to shoot but man… she was really nervous! Which was a little weird since my impression of her was that she was very outgoing! Random at times and free-spirited. But for some reason, she was a little uneasy… It sprinkled a little at first as well. And we thought that it would rain hard. Fortunately, the clouds held their tears! However, towards the end of the shoot we were attacked by these bugs (not really sure what they were – they weren’t mosquitos) and it really got me annoyed!

Furthermore, as we looked for another spot to do final shots, those stupid bugs followed us! They were in the truck and in my hair. Putting my hood over my head did not help at all. Yet, I was able to take some really good ones of her. I guess sometimes you really have to suffer.

So, was this session worth getting bitten in many different places of my body including my scalp? Was this the crappiest shoot I have ever done? Yes – to both! There’s going to be more miserable photoshoots later but this one was a lot more memorable. I cringe everytime I look at that one picture of her with all those damn bugs in her hair and face! Sorry Lydia. But I hope it was worth it for you. It was for me! Haha…

Tony Stark

May 2, 2008

Ironman comes out today!!! Yes bitches!  Here’s a few reasons why I like Ironman:

First, he does not have any super special powers – he just has a lot of money!  Just like Bruce Wayne – this mofo is soooooo freaking filthy rich!  Still human, but somewhat invincible.  Second, he gets a lot of p**sy (maybe ‘coz he’s rich hahaha).  Not sure why that’s important really.  And lastly, he realized that helping humankind is the best thing ever!  Yaay!!!

On a serious note…  I truly believe that Downey Jr. was perfect for this role.  I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I believe his acting and his personality really fits Tony Stark.  He’s one of my favorite actors out there.  I wrote about the movie "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints" awhile back.  He was truly exceptional in that movie.  But the movie in itself was really awesome.  And if you haven’t seen it yet, you ought to.  It’s one of the best films I have seen to date.

I’m watching this movie with the fam today!
