Sixpack Jesus?

January 22, 2009

_igp3755There was this huge painting of Jesus with super washboard abs at a catholic church in Virginia. I couldn’t help but take a snapshot of it to share with you. Who knew that Jesus had a sixpack? Did he do P90X? Because I swear, that exercise is too intense for me! Maybe all carpenters during that time had major abs. The wood back in the days were pretty heavy after all. It takes skill and precision to make a simple table. And they didn’t have any trucks to haul them around. Good grief man… I wish I had those!

I guess that’s why the bible tells us to imitate Christ! =)

It puts a whole new meaning to this verse…

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.” – 1 Peter 2:21

Change!!!

January 22, 2009

A new era for the new America!  Just like Obama, however, this man wants change.  Who’s going to help him?  Also, I heard today that only those people making less than 70K a year will get a tax break.  I thought it was 200K?  When did it change?  Wait, didn’t Obama say he’ll “change” things?  Maybe next year it will be less than 45K…  then I’ll be really pissed.

Be wary of this man – especially how the media adores him and makes him the superman of all beings on earth.  Please remember all of his promises before entered office.  I have doubts but I will continue to pray for him  because I love this country too much!

Hungry

January 19, 2009

_igp4506I’m very hungry. Once a year, our whole church fasts for a whole week in January. It is that time of the year. It’s only been day one and I am already thinking that I cannot handle it. I’m not even doing the whole “fasting thing”. I’m only doing it partially – just one meal a day. And being a big eater that I am, I have to say that this is really hard. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how my pastors do it. My mom said she did it for 40 days when she was in bible school. It was part of their curriculum! That’s too crazy for me. With the availability of food nowadays, I can’t fathom how one can go through 40 days without food let alone a week. I am very hungry!_igp4531

I’ve been very busy lately.  I just finished up our church’s site and am glad that it is now fully functional!  I haven’t had a chance to put up pictures here.  Here’s two from a couple of very important people in my life.

Jakob is growing fast.

I’m glad he’s starting to settle down a bit.  My wife thinks he’s still too hyper at times.  She constantly screams at him.  I can’t complain – I was probably the same way when I was little.  I see too much of me in him.

The baby, too, is growing fast.  He seems to talk a lot now,  though he doesn’t make sense one bit.  But he can understand really well and is very enjoyable around.  But with my parents here, he seems to ignore my wife and I as much as he can.  They spoil him too much!  I can’t complain however, my parents are a big help.  And they won’t be around all the time!

I’m still hungry!

ie7I’ve a found a fix for IE7 but it’s still a little buggy. If you’re on Internet Explorer right now (looking at this site), you’ll notice a little break on the top left graphics. Thanks to the folks at SM for giving us a cure for the overlapping posts. It’s still not quite right but it works great nonetheless.
However, i have also found that Firefox on Windows does not render the top of this page correctly either. Hmmm….
